Bank robbery suspect turns himself into police
EDMESTON – The man sought by the New York State Police in connection to an Edmeston bank robbery turned himself in Saturday to law enforcement. Police had released his photograph and a physical description to the public on Thursday.
David A. Lolik, 38, of Edmeston, has been charged with third degree robbery, a Class D felony carrying a maximum sentence of up to seven years in state prison. He was arraigned in Town of Edmeston Court before Town Justice Barbara Bateman and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
Lolik turned himself into police in the Town of Middlefield Saturday morning.
On May 19, Lolik allegedly walked into the NBT Bank branch on West Street in Edmeston and passed a note to the teller demanding she hand over an undisclosed amount of money. Police said no weapon was displayed during the robbery.
Otsego County District Attorney John M. Muehl said Lolik was charged with third degree robbery because he did not have a weapon, nor did he claim he had one at the time of the robbery.
“That’s how it looks right now with the information police have gathered,” he said.
