NORWICH – It was a strong showing for Norwich in its season-opener Friday. Before the rains came to wash out play, Norwich racked up five team points to blank the Black Knights.

“It was a strong showing for us,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “We won all of our matches in straight sets pretty convincingly. It’s a good start out of the gate for hopefully a great season.”

Bryn Loomis, Sophie Stewart, Reva Seager, and Jessica Lerner did not allow more than three games in any one set to sweep in singles. Emily Stewart and Katie Orioli rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 victory in the only doubles match that was completed.
