NEW BERLIN – Brandon Miles shook off a shaky opening inning and allowed just one hit in six innings pitched as Unadilla Valley won its opening game in the Otsenango Pony League.
Brett Smith was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Josh Rutherford smacked a three-run double as part of a five-run sixth inning allowing UV to pull away. Dakota Kolvik had an RBI double in the win, and Miles finished 2-for-5 at the plate to help his own cause.

NORWICH –Norwich struck for five runs in its opening at-bat, and defeated Oxford in Monday’s Otsenango Pony League game.
Cody Barnes went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI. Ben Barnes was also 2-for-3 with three runs batted in, and winning pitcher Colby Griffin tripled twice scoring three times for Norwich.
Oxford, down 5-0 after two innings, rallied to take an 11-9 lead in the fifth inning. Andrew Golden tripled and drove in a team-high four runs for Oxford
