GREENE – Greene and junior pitcher Rebecca Hanrahan made a perfect start to the 2011 season.

She fanned 10, and was aided by fine defensive play. “I was a little concerned because we’ve been inside a lot, and it’s (the weather) been frustrating,” said Greene coach Rick Smith. “I was happy with the defensive plays we made, and we showed a lot of focus.”

Ellis capped her day with a two-run triple in the sixth inning. Hanrahan helped her own cause with three hits, and Caitlin Willis also finished with three hits.
