United Way campaign tops 70 percent
NORWICH – The Chenango United Way Campaign Cabinet met last Wednesday morning to announce they’ve raised 70 percent of their annual fundraising goal, collecting nearly $308,000 to be distributed among local non-profit organizations in 2012.
“There’s still plenty of time to help us reach our goal,” said United Way Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco. She urges anyone who wishes to contribute to this year’s United Way Campaign to do so by Dec. 30 at 12 p.m.
“A great deal of thanks to all who have contributed so far,” said Deb Barker, United Way Campaign Co-Chair.
“We appreciate the contributions we already have and look forward to receiving more; these contributions are something that benefit the whole community,” said Campaign Co-Chair TJ Moorehead.
The Chenango United Way has set a goal of reaching $440,000 before the end of the year. The Chenango United Way is the largest single non-governmental organization that funds health and human service programs in Chenango County and works closely with local community partners to discuss and solve community problems.
