Twenty days and still no sign of missing woman

NEW BERLIN – It’s been nearly three weeks since authorities first began their search for a missing New Berlin woman last seen by her husband as she prepared for a shopping trip to Destiny USA in Syracuse.
According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer L. Ramsaran, 36, 473 Sheff Road, has made no effort to contact friends or family since vanishing the morning of Dec. 11, and there has been no activity on any of the missing woman’s online accounts, either financial or social. Ramsaran’s cell phone was found on Dec. 12 in the area of State Route 23 and Moon Hill Road in the Town of Plymouth, while her 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was discovered at Plank Road Manor, Plymouth Street, in the City of Norwich on Dec. 16.
In the weeks that have passed since she went missing, the Sheriff’s Office – partnered with the New York State Police, New York State Park Rangers and the Norwich and New Berlin Police departments – have executed a number of search warrants at the Ramsaran home and its surrounding 18 acres, also interviewing her husband, Ganesh Remy Ramsaran, and the couple’s three children. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office reported that detectives are still awaiting forensic results in the case and are continuing to search for leads. According to Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr., the various law enforcement agencies working the case will re-evaluate the situation once those results are made available before deciding how to proceed.
And while Cutting reported the Ramsarans had discussed separating in the past – and that Ganesh Ramsaran was “frustrated” with the amount of time his wife was spending online – any conflicts were typical in nature, he said. There have been no reported domestic incidents of any kind involving the couple, he added, and it remains unknown if foul play was involved in Ramsaran’s disappearance. Cutting has stated on several occasions his concern with the length of time the New Berlin woman has been missing as the investigation continues.
Authorities describe Ramsaran as a white female, approximately 5’5” and 170 lbs. She has brown hair and blue eyes, although it has been reported that she may have changed her hair color at some point prior to her disappearance. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a purple and white sweater and a black jacket. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office continues to maintain a command post, established approximately two weeks ago, and anyone with information on Ramsaran’s whereabouts are asked to call 337-1992. All calls will be kept confidential.
