MIDDLETOWN – Norwich juniors Brooke Bonney and Matt Murray medaled in their events at the New York State Track and Field Championships, Saturday at Middletown High School.

Despite earning a spot on the podium among the best in their respective events, the duo, said NHS coach Shaun Horan, is already planning to get back to work.

"They both had good performances and are definitely happy to medal, but I think they both are not satisfied and want to continue to build on this year," Horan said.

Bonney was fifth in division two in the discus with a toss of 113 feet, five inches, and she matched her sixth-place finish of a year ago in the shot put recording a throw of 36 feet, 7 1/4 inches.
