Each year, the Chenango SPCA (CSPCA) Dog Walk – appropriately named “Did Somebody Say Walk?” – helps the not-for-profit organization raise money needed to carry out its mission to provide and promote care, compassion and respect to all animals and to the community. Registration for the mile-long walk around the park will be held from 9-10 a.m. While there is no charge to participate, the CSPCA is asking that walkers donate $20 or more, or gather fundraising pledges from the community sponsoring them.

As always, the Dog Walk will be immediately followed by the annual Alumni Parade, when animals that were adopted at the CSPCA are put in the spotlight.

Walkers who donate $20 will receive a dog bandana while supplies last. Walkers who donate $50 will have their entry fee waived and also receive a dog bandanna; and donations of $75 or more are awarded by a 2013 Dog Walk t-shirt and dog bandanna.

“This has always been a great event,” explained Annette Clarke, executive director of the CSPCA. “In the past, we have had anywhere between 60 and 100 walkers and all the money we are able to raise goes to help the animals at the shelter.”
