S-E girls drop Clinton
SHERBURNE - In dominating fashion, the Sherburne-Earlville girls’ varsity basketball team hosted and beat Clinton on Monday, December 14.
After four quarters of play the Marauder women came out on top 57-28.
The first quarter set the tone for the rest of the game as S-E scored 22 points and held Clinton to only two. S-E’s defense was what kept them ahead as they registrered over 25 rebounds.
S-E’s Lily Berg led the Marauders to the win with 15 points and 13 rebounds, earning a double-double.
Berg was only out done in the points category by team mate Savannah Irwin who scored 21.
In the second quarter Clinton began to pull things together and scored 10 points to S-E’s 11. S-E would not relinquish the lead the rest of the game.
The second half was the same story for the two teams as the S-E women continued to out play the visiting team.
After the final whistle blew, Sherburne-Earlville was up 57-28 and had earned a league win.
