New coach hopes to spark Greene softball

GREENE – With Spring Sports practices in full swing in Chenango County, the Greene varsity softball team finds itself with a new head coach for the 2016 season.

Rick Condon, although new to the head coaching job in Greene, is not new to the softball community and has set some lofty but attainable goals for the Lady Trojans, after they posted a 7-9 overall record in last years 2015 campaign.

“I have a to-do list for Greene softball which includes age groups from elementary school to high school. The end goal is to bring Greene softball back to the top and to remain there as a constant contender for years to come. It will be a slow process but will be a goal that myself, the players and community can obtain,” said Condon.

The Lady Trojans will first take the field on April 2, at 11 a.m. When they travel to take on Delhi.

“The players are extremely excited to get started and have be working very hard to make a statement this season,” Condon said. “We are looking to be in sectionals this season.”
