Norwich and Windsor softball split in double header

WINDSOR – In double header action, the Norwich and Windsor girls split in the games with the first game going to Windsor winning 5-2 and the second game going in favor of Norwich, winning 6-5.

“We jumped out on top then we just couldn’t get it going again,” said Norwich head coach Scott Moore.

Moore explained that Hannah Eddy the base on an error, followed by Kate Dowdall who went 2-2 on the day, earning a hit with a single. “Alex Colley roped a good double to the fence and scored both of them,” said Moore of their two runs in the second inning. “Then we just couldn’t get anything going again, they pitched around Kassidy, and Shannon, they know these girls.”

Moore explained that four errors committed by Norwich ultimately led to their loss along with problems connecting with the ball at the plate.

Hannah Eddy pitched the duration of the game throwing out 99 pitches to go with her eight strikeouts and only one earned run.

Gabby Mirabito finished 1-3, Kate Dowdall went 2-2 with a run scored, and Alex Colley went 1-3 with 2 RBI's.

The second game of the evening saw a standout performance from Norwich's pitcher Hannah Eddy, as well as the game saving hit go to Gabby Mirabito.
