Two arraigned, Judge clears courtroom for one

NORWICH – Two men were arraigned for separate charges during a morning session held at the Chenango County Courthouse on Friday, May 27.

• Duane G. Hollenbeck, 47, of Pitcher, appeared on charges of assault in the second degree, a class D felony, and assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor.

It is alleged that on April 14, 2016 at a residence in the Town of Pitcher, Hollenbeck drove his 2015 Nissan Juke – a motor vehicle and dangerous instrument – into the victim with intent to cause physical injury. This allegedly caused a contusion to the right knee of the victim, which caused pain and discomfort.

During his arraignment on the charges, First Assistant District Attorney Michael D. Ferrarese, who represented the people of Chenango County, asked that an order of protection be arranged for the victim. He also said that he wished to pursue a bail amount of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

The Honorable Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. decided that he would leave the bail at the original $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.

Additional conditions set at the arraignment were that Hollenbeck must reside at his home seven days a week and he will not be allowed to use any form of social media.
