Man ticketed for robbing Norwich pharmacy indicted by grand jury

CHENANGO COUNTY – The man who allegedly robbed Walgreens is facing a felony indictment, along with two other men who are accused of committing unrelated crimes including purses and motorcycle thefts.


David D. Brunell was indicted on third-degree robbery, a class D felony.


According to the indictment, at approximately 7:10 p.m. on February 4, while in the City of Norwich, Brunell entered the building and forced a Walgreens Pharmacy employee to give him money from the cash register.


Around the time the incident occurred, Chenango County District Attorney Michael Ferrarese said Brunell was released on an appearance ticket due to the criminal justice reform laws.

At the time the Ferrarese said Brunell walked into the store, “put his hand in his pocket and told the clerk something along the lines of 'This is no joke, give me your money.'”
