NORWICH — A fan favorite eatery in Norwich has opened its doors once again. Johnny B's, the taco and burrito restaurant, will be serving up its signature cuisine for the rest of the summer.
The little shop, formerly known as The Caboose, has been open for two full weeks, said owner Abigail Caputo.
"This is the start of our third week," said Caputo. "It took a while to get open, but here we are. And business has been better than ever."
Caputo said while the establishment was meant to be a year-round operation, business trends showed their fare was more popular in the summer months.
"We originally planned to be open year round, and then when we opened we realized business just significantly dies in the fall. We shut it down and really it depends on the weather. When it's warm still people come, and when it cools down people do not," she said.
The COVID-19 pandemic didn't slow them down either, Caputo said, thanks to the continuing popularity of takeout.
"If anything business is better because takeout has doubled," she explained.
Hungry locals and visitors alike can stop in to Johnny B's for massive burritos, tasty tacos, classic quesadillas, and more.
Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday, and closed on the weekends.
"Business has been great," Caputo said. "We appreciate all of our loyal customers."
