Norwich softball earns road win at Forks

CHENANGO FORKS— The Norwich Purple Tornado softball team earned a 6-1 victory on the road against Chenango Forks on Wednesday night.

Norwich had a good start to the game, starting off with a three-run first.

Bri Cirigliano drew a load off walk before advancing to second on Ava Cirigliano's single.

Both sisters stole a base before Bri scored on Kerragan Reid's groundout.

Ava scored on a fielder's choice before an error brought in the third run.

Forks got its lone run in the bottom half of the first inning before Norwich added on in the third and fourth innings.

The Purple Tornado scored six runs on eight hits, including two hits from Kira Quattrocchi.

Ava, Bri, Reid, Loralee Brown, Brooke Rogers, and Nolah Montgomery each had a hit in the win.

Quattrocchi worked three strong innings, allowing one run on one hit, no walks, and struck out two batters.

Bri Cirigliano went in relief in the final four innings and was credited with the save. She walked two batters and struck out five in the win.

Norwich (3-6-1) heads to Sus Valley this evening at 5 p.m.
