NHS softball falls to Owego; Bri Cirigliano records 100 career strikeout
OWEGO— The Norwich Purple Tornado softball team traveled to Owego on Friday, where they fell 15-4.
Despite only scoring four runs, the Purple Tornado hit the bat well with 12 hits.
Norwich scored a run in the top of the third on Kerragan Reid’s RBI single.
Reid had another RBI single in the top of the fifth inning, this time driving in two runs, and scored on Shaelyn Rice’s RBI double.
Reid and Brooke Rogers both led the team with two hits as Reid drove in a team-high three runs.
Rice and Bri Cirigliano both had two hits while Ava Cirigliano (double) and Nolah Montgomery each had a hit in the loss.
Bri Cirigliano went six innings on the mound, allowing 15 runs (three earned) on 14 hits, six walks, and two strikeouts, including her 100th career strikeout.
Norwich (3-7-1) hosts Seton Catholic this evening at 5 p.m.
