B-G softball take the win over Greene in local matchup
BAINBRIDGE—The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats and Greene Trojans softball teams met on Friday in a local MAC league matchup in Bainbridge. B-G expanded its current win streak to five with a close 7-5 victory.
Both teams got started in the top of the first and then continued to go back-and-forth, however, B-G’s four-run bottom of the first inning helped them secure the victory.
Alessandra Cafasso led the Bobcats with three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIS while Tori Suda also drove in three runs on a three-run homer. Breanna Casey had two hits in the win.
Greene’s Lyndsay Specht led the team with one hit and two RBIs while Reagan Moorehead had two hits (one double) and Quinlin Cavanaugh doubled in the loss.
Hope Blackman got the win for B-G, going the complete game, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits, three walks, and struck out five batters.
The Trojans pitching combined with seven earned runs on eight hits, three walks, and three strikeouts.
B-G (7-3, 6-1) hosts Deposit-Hancock on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. while Greene (1-6) hosts Unatego this evening at 6:30 p.m.
