Local scholarship opportunity available for aspiring nurses through UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital

NORWICH - Students and community members interested in a career in nursing are invited to apply to the Dr. Thomas F. Manley Nursing Scholarship/Loan Fund, a generous opportunity created in memory of Dr. Thomas Manley, a pioneering physician who helped found UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital.

 

Chenango County residents and residents of surrounding communities who are pursuing a nursing degree at an accredited school of professional nursing are eligible to apply. Awards range from $500 to $2,000, with the possibility of higher amounts and renewable funding for multiple years while students remain enrolled.

 

After graduation and licensure as a Registered Nurse, recipients must complete a one‑year employment commitment at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital.

“This scholarship is a great opportunity to receive financial support, gain valuable experience, and begin a rewarding nursing career close to home,” said Brian Day, Volunteer and Student Services Manager at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital.
