The Rogers Center ponds in Sherburne are generally not open to the public for fishing. However, during the Family Fishing Frenzy, all visitors are encouraged to try this popular outdoor pastime without holding an otherwise mandatory New York State fishing license. Registration for this event is required, email erica@friendsofrogers.org and specify the number of poles needed.

“I love leading this event, because it’s a great way to get outdoors and try something new,” said Erica Clark, Senior Environmental Educator for the Friends of Rogers. “Fishing has the potential to be a lifelong hobby, and as we provide supplies at this no-license required event, it gives everyone a chance to discover more about angling without financial commitment.”

Rogers Environmental Education Center is one of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) four environmental education centers. Rogers Center is located at 2721 state highway 80, Sherburne NY, 13460.
