Oxford Pony overcomes Bainbridge Bolts 8-1

BAINBRIDGE— The Oxford Pony dominated the Bainbridge Bolts in a victory of 8-1 on Monday. Oxford's attack and strong pitching proved to be too much for The Bolts, as the team pulled away with the win.

Oxford recorded 8 runs on seven hits while holding a strong defense. Alarik Davenport was 1 for 3 with two runs scored with Bodie Barrows contributing an offensive hit with a double and two RBIs. Noah Bush, Evan Johnson, and Colton Hurlburt each picked up a hit and scored a run.

Bodie Barrows earned the win and started on the mound, allowing one earned run on four hits, a walk, and struck out six batters. Joey Locke went an inning and two-thirds, allowing just two hits, no walks, and two strikeouts.

Pitchers for the Bainbridge Bolts included of Anthony Cafasso, Mason Acquisto and Cole Keuhn. They all worked hard but ended up giving away eight runs in total.

The Bolts scored their lone run in the first inning with two outs. Davis Barnard doubled and then scored on Mason Acquisto’s RBI double to center field.

Both teams had six hits each. For the Bolts, Barnard and Camren Cuozzo both led the team with two hits as Acquisto and Micah Casey each had a hit in the loss.

Oxford jumped on the scoreboard early and they erupted for a big mid-inning scoreline to create a comfortable lead. Solid defense and base running helped Oxford keep the game under control. Bainbridge did show flashes of greatness with good hits but ultimately could not keep it consistent to create a comeback.

Oxford Pony 2026 will look to keep this momentum into the upcoming game against Delhi on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in a doubleheader. The Bolts aim to bounce back against Unatego on Thursday at 6 p.m.
