Bainbridge Bolts fall to Unatego 16-6
BAINBRIDGE— The Bainbridge Bolts faced off against Unatego on Thursday, falling 16-6 at home through six innings played.
After being down 9-0, the Bolts got on the board with a four run bottom of the fourth with Davis Barnard leading the inning off with a single before advancing to second on Mason Acquisto’s single and Finn McGraw walked to load the bases. Cullen Benjamin pinch hit for Mason Sherwood and doubled to drive in a pair.
An error brought in two more runs.
Unatego added on in the top of the fifth and Bainbridge answered with two more runs in the bottom half of the inning. Frankie Parsons walked with one out, advanced to second on another single by Barnard. Finn McGraw drove both home on a two-out, two-run double.
Nathan Gates got the start on the mound for Bainbridge, allowing six earned runs on four hits, and three walks.
Brayden Wehrli went the distance on the mound for the Bolts, allowing eight unearned runs on two hits, three walks, and two strikeouts. Frankie Parsons also pitched in relief, allowing two earned runs on one hit and five walks through an inning and a third.
Bainbridge (1-6-1) heads to Oxford on Monday at 6 p.m.
