Oxford PONY defeats Bainbridge 11-5
BAINBRIDGE— The Oxford Blackhawks PONY league team took on the Bainbridge Bolts on Monday, where they came away with a 11-5 victory.
Oxford scored at least one run in every inning in the six inning game.
Bainbridge did have a 4-2 lead after one with Brayden Ives' single to start the inning and Anthony Cafasso reached on a hit by pitch.
Davis Barnard drove in a run on a single to center, advanced to second on the throw and went to third on an error. Barnard scored during Frankie Parsons' at bat.
Mason Acquisto drove in a run on a double before he stole third and scored on an error during Camren Cuozzo's at bat to make it 4-2.
Oxford added on to take the overall lead while Bainbridge scored one final run in the bottom of the sixth as Acquisto tripled and scored on Cullen Benjamin's groundout.
The Blackhawks scored 11 runs on seven hits with Ingraham and Uri Tracy leading the team with two hits. Tracy, Josh Knapp and Bodie Barrows also added two RBIs.
Ingraham had an RBI triple as Evan Johnson also drove in a run in the win.
Bainbridge scored five runs on five hits with Acquisto paving the way with two hits, including a double and a triple.
Oxford's Josh Knapp got the start, going an inning, allowing four runs (one earned) on three hits, a walk, and had two strikeouts.
Bodie Barrows pitched four and two thirds in relief, allowing one earned run on two hits, four walks, and struck out six batters.
Eddie Ingraham went a third of an inning on six pitches to get the final out.
Bainbridge's Cafasso got the start on the mound, going one inning, allowing two earned runs on two hits, one walk, and two strikeouts.
Micah Casey, Cullen Benjamin, and Cole Keuhn each pitched in relief.
Oxford (4-5) heads to Cooperstown on Thursday at 6 p.m. while Bainbridge (1-7-1) hosts Deposit tonight at 6 p.m.
