NORWICH— The Norwich Post 189 Legion ball team hosted the Oneonta Green Wave on Tuesday, where they fell short 4-2. Despite the loss, Norwich outhit Oneonta 7 to 5.

After being down 4-0, Norwich scored its only two runs in the bottom of the sixth as Blayne Sutton doubled to lead off the inning and Kolbey Redenback drew a walk. Kassen Stubb hit a sac-fly to bring in Sutton while Redenback came home on an RBI single by Bo Brown.

Zack Parker and Bo Brown led the team with two hits as Zac Turner, Blayne Sutton, and Troy Schack each picked up one hit in the loss.

Joey Parker started on the mound for Post 189, going two innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits, a walk, and two strikeouts. Zack Parker pitched three innings in relief, allowing one unearned run on one hit, two walks, and four strikeouts. Michael Brunick and Kolbey Redenback also pitched in relief.

Norwich Post 189 (6-7) heads to Hillcrest Post 1194 this evening at 6 p.m.
