NORWICH —The Norwich PONY league team hosted Stamford on Wednesday night, falling 29-4.

After being down 13-0, Norwich got on the board with a run in the bottom of the third as Joey Portelli doubled to put runners in scoring position and Lucas Pope, who reached on a fielder's choice, scored on a groundout RBI by Channing Foulds.

Norwich scored its other three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning as Connor Shepard reached on a walk, Pope singled, and Portelli reached on an error, which drove in a pair. Portelli scored on a bases loaded walk before the final out.

Foulds led the team with two hits as Portelli had a team-high two RBIs and a double while Foulds, Portelli, and Lucas Pope each pitched in the contest in the loss.

Norwich resumes its game against Schenevus this evening at 6 p.m.
