ENDICOTT —The Norwich Little League 12U All-Stars put together an outstanding tournament run, earning a second-place finish in the Union-Endicott Little League 12U All-Star Tournament after battling through a talented 12-team field.

The tournament featured 12 teams divided into Gold and Silver brackets, with Norwich competing in the highly competitive Gold Bracket.

Norwich opened pool play on June 25 with a thrilling 8-7 victory over the Union-Endicott 12A All-Stars. The following day, the team found itself in another nail-biter, defeating the Maine-Endwell 12B All-Stars 3-2 in nine innings. After three extra innings of scoreless baseball, Norwich came through with the winning run to earn its second victory of the tournament.

On June 28, Norwich continued its impressive play by defeating Chenango Valley, 2-1, to complete pool play with a perfect 3-0 record and advance to the Gold Bracket semifinals.

In the semifinals, Norwich once again squared off against Maine-Endwell 12B. Just as they had earlier in the tournament, the All-Stars came away with another hard-fought 3-1 victory, punching their ticket to the championship game.

Facing a strong Vestal 12B squad in the Gold Bracket championship, Norwich battled until the final out but ultimately fell 9-5 to finish as tournament runners-up.

Throughout the tournament, the Norwich 12U All-Stars demonstrated outstanding teamwork, determination, and resilience. The team consistently rose to the occasion in close games, winning four contests decided by just one run before reaching the championship.

Congratulations to the players and coaches on an outstanding tournament and a memorable second-place finish. Norwich Little League is proud of the effort, sportsmanship, and heart this group displayed while representing the community throughout the tournament.
