EARLVILLE – Residents of Earlville are coming together to celebrate the community again this weekend with the annual Earlville Block Party.

Usually held in conjunction with Earlville Days, this community event is held to promote unity and village pride and give Earlville residents an evening of fun and music.

Saturday night, West Main Street will be shut down allowing for music, food and dancing to fill the street. Event organizer and owner of The Huff Brau in Earlville, Ashley Proskine said being part of Earlville’s block party tradition is important to her.

While it is the fourth year organizing the event for Proskine, the block party has been part of Earlville’s history for as long as she can remember.

“People look forward to the great music and everyone gets together to mingle,” Proskine said.

This year’s event will hopefully feature multiple performers during the course of the evening. Last winter, The Huff Brau held a musical talent contest. The winner of that contest will be one of the performers at Saturday’s event. Matt Beadle and Chuck Premo are scheduled to perform in the alley, the outside venue on the side of the Huff Brau, starting at 4 p.m. Proskine said there is a possibility that performance might change, and encouraged attendees to check the Facebook page for updates prior to the event.

The main attraction this year will be Jon Rogalia and the Swamp Boys. The band, playing a variety of southern rock songs, will take the main stage from 5 to 10 p.m. Based out of central New York, the band won a Best Country award at Syracuse Area Music Awards in 2022.

A specially created menu featuring carnitas and walking tacos will be available on Saturday only. A chef from Binghamton was brought in to help cater the event.

There will be a $5 cover and identification will be checked at the gate to make sure only those 21 and over are allowed inside the block party area.
