Boil-water order for the Village of South Otselic water system is lifted

SOUTH OTSELIC - The boil-water order for the Village of South Otselic Water System has been lifted, and residents may resume normal water use.

As of Aug. 30, emergency water-quality monitoring indicated the system meets applicable New York state drinking water standards.

Residents may experience discolored water or changes in taste or odor. If that occurs, officials recommend flushing water lines for 15 to 20 minutes or until the water runs clear.

Questions may be directed to the South Otselic Village Office at 315-653-7201 or the Chenango County Health Department at 607-337-1673.
