SIDNEY— The Norwich Purple Tornado football team rolled to a 43-8 win on the road against non-league but local opponent Sidney on Friday night. Norwich stood out behind standout performances from quarterback Bo Brown and key plays by wide receiver Gavin Burrell as well as a strong defense.

Brown paced the attack by picking up rushing gains of 13, 10, and 20 yards, while also connecting with Gavin Burrell on a 13-yard pass and throwing a 13-yard touchdown strike to Noah Eddy. Burrell added a major spark of his own with a 42-yard run and a 29-yard reception. Defensively, the Purple Tornado swarmed the backfield to force a safety following a muffed snap by Sidney.

Norwich (1-1) hosts Oneonta for Homecoming this Friday at 7 p.m.
