NEW BERLIN— The Unadilla Valley/GMU girls’ soccer team continued its homestand against MAC league opponent Unatego/Franklin on Tuesday night. UV/GMU fell 5-0 but played a strong defensive front.

Unatego/Franklin had control of possession most of the game with UV/GMU having to stand their ground defensively, led by Madison Dix, who man marked her opponent well and even had a steal and good movement offensively as well.

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton had many breakaways and put up six shots on goal, along with some help from Molly Gorrell and Logan Lindholm, who pressured the goalie towards the end of the game, but couldn’t capitalize.

UV/GMU goalie Alexis Davis faced many shots on goal and made crucial saves to start the game and ended up with 10 saves in total in the first half. Molly Knuth took over goal in the second half and made seven saves.

UV/GMU (2-2) hosts their annual NY Pizzeria tournament on Friday and Saturday.
