NEW BERLIN — Over the weekend, the Unadilla Valley/GMU girls’ soccer team hosted their annual NY Pizzeria tournament, featuring Norwich, Milford, and Spencer-Van Etten/Candor.

Both UV/GMU and Norwich fell in the opening round to face off against one another in Saturday’s consolation game.

Friday’s Games:

SVEC 2- UV/GMU 1

Logan Lindholm scored for UV/GMU as Noelle Fernadez-Naughton had the assist and many shots on goal, but could not capitalize. Allisyn Daniell also had a shot on goal in the loss. UV/GMU’s Alexis Davis made five saves in the goal.

Milford 2 - Norwich 2 (Milford won on PKs 2-1)

Quinn Terry scored both goals for the Purple Tornado and scored the one PK at the end of regulation. Kerragan Reid made 21 saves in net.

Saturday’s game:

Norwich 4 - UV/GMU 3

Norwich picked up its first win of the season against UV/GMU in a non-league matchup for the tournament consolation game. Josey Ryan led Norwich with two goals while Quinn Terry added on with a goal and an assist. McKenzie Brunick also scored for the Purple Tornado. Jillian Tefft had an assist in the win. Kerragan Reid made nine saves in goal.

UV/GMU’s Noelle Fernandez-Naughton had 10 shots on goal and scored as well as Alex Irons and Sophia Bell. Alexis Davis made 17 saves in goal.
