NORWICH — The Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ swim team held their first official meet of the season at home against Oneonta on Thursday night. All results can be found on Swimcloud.com.

In the 200 freestyle, Alexandra Shtrauch took second behind Oneonta with a time of 2:13.98. Teammate Raeley Patterson earned a new personal best time of 2:57.39 in fourth place.

Patterson also competed in the 100 free, where she came in fourth place with a season-best time of 1:21.47.

Shtrauch also took second in the 500 free with a time of 6:09.79, behind Oneonta’s leading 6:08.76.

Brynn Meek came in fourth place with a time of 7:42.68.

Sophomore Kaelyn Conant picked up a new personal best with a time of 2:49.07 in the 200 individual medley in third place. Conant also won the 100 breaststroke with the fastest time of 1:28.11.

Jillian Petrie earned a new personal best in the 50 free event as she took second with a time of 29.92 seconds, not far off the leader’s 28.01. Brynn Meek followed behind Petrie in third place with a season-best 35.89 seconds. Petrie also swam in the 100 backstroke, where the junior won the event with the fastest time of 1:14.84 for a season-best.

Shtrauch, Meek, Conant, and Petrie won the 400 free relay together with a time of 4:50.24.

Norwich heads to Windsor on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
