CHENANGO COUNTY — The Oxford Blackhawks played two games over the weekend with the first being under the lights at home against UV/GMU and Saturday at Edmeston/Morris.

Friday’s game:

UV/GMU 4 - Oxford 3

Both teams played a highly intense game with UV/GMU taking a 2-1 lead at halftime before both teams scored two in the second half. Oxford got on the board first with a goal by Arielle Ross off an assist by Paige Rickard before UV/GMU tied it up three minutes later as Alex Irons found net off an assist by Noelle Fernandez-Naughton. Fernandez-Naughton gave UV/GMU the lead with an unassisted goal three minutes from dishing out an assist.

Logan Lindholm scored twice in the second half for UV/GMU, which her second goal ended up being the game-winner. One of her goals was assisted by Carrie Doyle. Jayne Fleury picked up a goal and an assist on Emily Williams goal in the second half for Oxford.

Saturday’s game:

Oxford 3 - Edmeston/Morris 2

Oxford quickly bounced back with a close win at Morris. Reese Tefft led the team with two goals as Paige Rickard scored one. Jayne Fleury added another assist in the win.

“We had a phenomenal bounce-back win today,” Coach Rachel Seiler said. “The team played with incredible heart and teamwork, completely shaking off last night’s tough loss to UV/GMU. We hope to continue this energy and drive.”
