ONEONTA— The Norwich Purple Tornado golf team took on rivals Oneonta on Monday at the Oneonta Country Club. Norwich defeated the Yellowjackets by a single stroke 210-211 on the par 36 course.

Brevin Bennett led all golfers with a match low 34 (-2) as Matthew Brunick followed with a 35 (-1) to lead Norwich. Charlie Smith chipped in a 41 while Kinnon Bennett had a 49 and Jacob Lobdell with a 51.

Payne Skillin finished as the team’s sixth golfer.

Norwich (8-1) hosts Windsor this afternoon at 4 p.m.
