OXFORD — After many close matches, the UV/GMU golf team picked up its first win of the season on Monday against Oxford 231-245.

UV/GMU’s Carter Simonds led the team with a 39 as Zack Welch added a 45 and Urijah Drake with a 47. Evan Hill and Blake Lawrence both shot 50s and Paul Ruffles finished as the sixth golfer.

Oxford’s Clayton Carlson led all golfers with a match low 38. Kevin Northup followed with a 44 with Uri Tracy chipping in a 45. Ethan Trombley shot a 57 while Alex Whyte had a 61. Ryze Christopherson finished as the Blackhawks’ sixth golfer.
