EARLVILLE – Earlville Opera House (EOH) invites you to a special evening on our 1892 historic Main Stage on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. when our Songwriter Showcase will feature several talented musicians who participated in EOH’s Songwriting Workshop Series. The series was facilitated this fall by recognized songwriter and local favorite Reyna Stagnaro.
Stagnaro has taken workshops and master classes from some of the best: Claire Lynch, Joe Crookston, Peter Mulvey, John Pennel, Todd Hobin, Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb, Jeffrey Pepper Rogers, Austin MacRae and others. As stated by award-winning songwriter John Cadley, “Reyna's songwriting is both deeply personal and universally appealing - her songs immediately resonate with the listener. The emotions and observations are clearly heartfelt, and her simple but beautiful musical delivery creates even greater impact. No fabrication, every word counts, authentic and true!” In addition, touring musician and Folk Alliance Album of the Year winner Joe Crookston said, “There is a feeling of open space in Reyna's songs. Uncluttered. Expansive.”
Stagnaro’s expertise as a facilitator makes each workshop a unique and successful experience that inspires songwriting through exercises and insightful editing techniques and facilitates group sharing of songs, discussion and collaboration. The three songwriter workshops led by Stagnaro at EOH will end with highlighting the results of the talented musicians who participated, including Fred Ashforth, Bruce Ward, Brian Murphy, Jo Jo Russell, John Owens and Reyna Stagnaro.
Stagnaro states this is “truly a dynamic and diverse mix of amazing writers and musicians; I am honored (and humbled...!) to lead this group. Come enjoy an evening of original music and the stories behind the songs. Experience the magic of the songwriter/listener experience in an intimate setting. The performance will be on the main stage of EOH's historic, enchanting theater.”
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at earlvilleoperahouse.com or at the door. Come enjoy and support original music and our local treasure, the Earlville Opera House! Also, while on site, check out our three amazing gallery exhibitions!
Earlville Opera House Arts Center is located at 18 E. Main St. in the quaint village of Earlville, N.Y. At EOH we believe accessibility and inclusion are critical to everything we do.
