Rise in number of car break-ins over recent weeks
CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Sheriff's Office has said that they have been receiving a large volume of larcenies from vehicles across Chenango County over the last few weeks.
Lieutenant Richard Cobb said that between eight to 10 larcenies a week have been reported in areas including Oxford, North Norwich, the City of Norwich, and Sherburne.
The Sheriff's Office asks that people remain vigilant and make sure that they do not leave anything of value in their vehicles, as well as keep their vehicles locked.
The investigation into these incidents is ongoing. If anyone has any information on any of the larcenies, they are asked to contact the CCSO at 334-2000.
