OXFORD — Peila View Farm welcomes the community to their 8th annual Autumn Family Fun event, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sundays, weather permitting, from September 12 through November 1, at 144 Kilroy Road in Oxford.

The 100-acre farm is family-owned and operated by John and Michelle Peila. Their daughter, Victoria Ryan, helps organize the festivities and assists on the farm.

"This year, the nine-acre corn maze is 'Pirates of Peila,'" Ryan said. "It's a family-friendly corn maze, relaxing and fun for all."

Additional attractions will include a petting zoo, cow train, jump pad, U-pick pumpkin patch, hay bale climb, and scenic views.

Admission is $10 per person, cash only, with an optional $2 fee for the jump pad. Children ages two and under are admitted free.

On September 20 and 21, admission fees will be waived for children with special health care needs and their families. Vouchers for the first 225 people can be reserved by calling Erica Curtis at 607-821-0707, ext. 2942.

Saturday, October 10, Forged Brewing Co. and Better Daze Winery will offer homemade brews and wines.

Following a popular debut last year, the farm's interactive digital maze returns to help visitors hunt for treasures. New features include additional interactive games inside the maze, alongside other activities that do not require a cell phone.

Concession stands, which are also cash only, will offer apple cider floats, pumpkin patch floats made with orange cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, fresh-cut french fries, and apple cider donuts.

Ryan said the farm welcomes both new visitors and returning families. Over the years, the family has built a pavilion, expanded the petting zoo, and added a jump pad.

The Peilas, originally from Western Massachusetts, purchased the farm in 2013, relying primarily on dairy farming.

In 2018, Ryan and her sister, Megan, began designing corn mazes in partnership with Utah-based The MAiZE Company, shifting part of the operation toward agritourism.

"We're part of the MAiZE family," Ryan said. "They help design and put our maze together, and then we do all of the maintenance."

In case of inclement weather, operating updates will be posted on the Peila View Farm Facebook page, and staff will be available by phone. The farm also hosts 4-H events and school field trips.
