SHERBURNE — Campfire songs and costumed critters can be enjoyed at Rogers Center during Animals of Halloween, happening this year from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. Animal actors perform family-friendly and fun skits on the trails that pay tribute to New York wildlife during the annual event. Each tour concludes at the outdoor amphitheater, where local musician Jenni Larchar will share fireside singalongs.
The fun continues in the Rogers Center outdoor classroom with cider and donuts, face-painting, kids' crafts and a festive photo booth. Community partners such as the Chenango County Historical Society, Sherburne Library, Hamilton Library, Madison County CCE and Chenango County Department of Health will also lead activities with attendees. In the case of rain, all festivities will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the shelter of the outdoor classroom.
“This event has delighted members of our community for decades,” said Ariah Mitchell, Friends of Rogers communications lead. “We’re excited for our young actors to continue the tradition this year, entertaining people of all ages with their performances in amazing animal costumes.”
Registration is not required, and donations are suggested to support the continuing legacy of Animals of Halloween.
