OXFORD — Labor Day weekend has come to signal the end of summer, with kids heading back to school and vacations wrapping up, but the summer season is still in full peak form at the Oxford Farmers’ Market where vendors’ tables are overflowing with a huge abundance of those late-summer fruits and vegetables we wait all year to see, all at their absolute peak of freshness. So even with the leaves just starting to fall and the days getting shorter, you can still step back into the feeling of a summer day every Saturday morning—rain or shine— throughout the month of September, 9 a.m. to noon on Lafayette Park. Now is the time to fill your larders.

In addition to award-winning produce, vendors this week will also have beautiful mushrooms; locally raised and processed beef, pork, lamb and chicken; gorgeous cut flowers and potted plants; chicken, duck and turkey eggs; local cheeses; artisan breads, scones, and other fresh baked goods; fudges, salsas and jams; maple syrup and honey; prepared hot foods, hand-made healthy treats for dogs; hand-made soaps, lotions and balms; and exquisite hand-crafted items, including willow baskets. Every product is straight from a local source and the skilled hands of your neighbors.

This week, longtime Market favorite, George Anderson, will be returning to the Bandstand. 

The Market is open 9 a.m. to noon. Music in the Bandstand starts at 10 a.m.
